Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lars Sundström in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademir Baptista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ademir Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Sundström, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Lars Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of FC Kurdistan booed when Matungo Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Cromefeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Milosz Hejza to make the kick off. At last the ball reached Roberto-Carlos da Silva at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Matungo Gaúcho. 1-5. 92 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goal looked a bit too open when Fredric Hybbert came free, but Ademir Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Kurdistan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Kurdistan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
