Iker Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Linus Fredriksson in the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to Villa Gordiani getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ciro Esposito hit a great ball. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aybek Orcun in the 11th minute of play. Iker Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermin Arixo in the 13th minute of play. Marlin FC's Juan Carlos Alvarez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Marlin FC from getting a goal against them. Iker Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Linus Fredriksson in the 20th minute of play. Linus Fredriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Casillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Linus Fredriksson ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeronimo Sotil's late challenge caught a Villa Gordiani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeronimo Sotil helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Villa Gordiani booed when Marlin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeronimo Sotil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Linus Fredriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marlin FC's Juan Carlos Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrizio Canzano in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Villa Gordiani defense, Linus Fredriksson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iker Casillas. The Villa Gordiani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iker Casillas should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Panpili came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Dionisio Panpili notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas. Iker Casillas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Iker Casillas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aybek Orcun went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The Villa Gordiani players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marlin FC were winning 0-3.

Dionisio Panpilis short, quick shot in the 50thth minute got Iker Casillas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 52nd minute of the match Marlin FC got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ismael Iglesias ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dionisio Panpilis short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Iker Casillas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Linus Fredriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iker Casillas was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Dionisio Panpili sped through Villa Gordiani's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iker Casillas. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Linus Fredriksson in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Casillas saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Panpili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fermin Arixo. In the 82nd minute Aybek Orcun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Carlos Alvarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lia Marquez in the 86th minute of play. Giovanni Rana hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Linus Fredriksson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 minutes of play, Villa Gordiani's Arrigo Marrone made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Carlos Alvarez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Marlin FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
