In the 13thth minute of the game Torgny Landin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MIT's Calistrat Madgearu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Buzea came free, but Jens-Åke Källberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg. Jens-Åke Källberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the game, Torgny Landin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Calistrat Madgearu. Torgny Landin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The supporters of MIT booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Holger Blom didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute of the game Vilhelm Holm made a throw-in which Torgny Landin played forward. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Calistrat Madgearu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Calistrat Madgearu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Höijer in the 40th minute of the match. After 43 minutes Boca Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dinu Grigoroiu who took care of the corner kick. Dorin Banu made a great header on MIT's corner, it was just that Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torgny Landin was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, MIT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Vâtcă to maneuver through the defense. Calistrat Madgearu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Höijer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 64 minutes, Dorin Banu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MIT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorin Banu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. MIT's David Tunander was substituted for Dorin Banu. David Tunander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jens-Åke Källberg made a huge save. Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Elliot Nordgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elliot Nordgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Källberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiberiu Caramarin. 91 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Källberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicodim Orășan. Calistrat Madgearu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliot Nordgren in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute Mihăiţă Ilarie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Åke Källberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, MIT's Jens-Åke Källberg threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mihăiţă Ilarie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, MIT's Ivan Vâtcă got a free kick in the 95th minute. MIT were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
