In the 11th minute, Torgny Landin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Bonifaco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tomás Bonifaco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Beturian in the 14th minute of play. Tomás Bonifaco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Landin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomás Bonifaco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Jens-Åke Källberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Olof Sjöberg in the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Julian Beturian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Bonifaco. Candelaria FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Beturian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After having played for 28 minutes, Sven-Olof Sjöberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candelaria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Olof Sjöberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Torgny Landin notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Candelaria FC's Tomás Bonifaco. Tomás Bonifaco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julian Beturian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tomás Bonifaco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Sjöberg in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jiang Xuan Nan came free, but Tomás Bonifaco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute Jiang Xuan Nan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Bonifaco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Beturian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jens-Åke Källberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Olof Sjöberg in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Beturian came free, but Tomás Bonifaco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Arnaldo Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Åke Källberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Torgny Landin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Bonifaco. Jens-Åke Källberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Okanalp Özdil in the 75th minute of play. Torgny Landin in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tomás Bonifaco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 81 played minutes Candelaria FC got a freekick which was hit by Sabastian Rodriguez. Tomás Bonifaco was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Torgny Landin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Torgny Landin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. Jens-Åke Källberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Okanalp Özdil, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The Boca Juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Boca Juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
