The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orvar Bäckström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Salelles's Paulino Marin got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 37 minutes Basavilbaso FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vinicio Turrilla who took care of the corner kick. When Salelles's Luke Moya in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemente Rubio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström got control of the ball when Paulino Marin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match Basavilbaso FC got a corner. Salelles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henric Springfält ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Basavilbaso FC's Norbert Van den Gans in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Truylos Bernal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Glad in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Vinicio Turrilla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Orvar Bäckström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Vinicio Turrilla came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Salelles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinicio Turrilla couldn't finish the play. Paulino Marin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cecilio Unzueta fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salelles's protests and gave Cecilio Unzueta a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Salelles got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Unzueta. If Henric Springfält had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
