If Nunez Gizon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Entrena in the 10th minute of play forced Mainumby's goalkeeper Guaberto Cucao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lázaro Chap got free with Inge Marin in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Entrena came free, but Guaberto Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Cuatrodeocho's Godofredo Inko getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Guaberto Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Batuhin, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, David Batuhin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mainumby's Guaberto Cucao. In the 44th minute, Luis Gelacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The supporters of Cuatrodeocho booed when Mainumby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Sidro didn't get a good kick on the ball.
