Chivos de Punto Fijo's Dani Hernández played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Bulă in the 25th minute of play. If Nilmar Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jailson Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 38th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Alves to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jailson Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nilmar Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Nilmar Marinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jailson Soares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nilmar Marinho to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Chivos de Punto Fijo got a corner. Breguete FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Narciso Gombal ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 59th minute, Narciso Gombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chivos de Punto Fijo made a substitution. Juan Torrent replaced Narciso Gombal. Cezary Makomaski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Jailson Soares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Juan Torrent could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Jailson Soares made a huge save. Jailson Soares made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Juan Torrent sent off a good shot on target. Cezary Makomaski struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Jailson Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chivos de Punto Fijo. 94 minutes into the match, Cezary Makomaski notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Breguete FC's Jailson Soares. Jailson Soares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chivos de Punto Fijo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
