The Breguete FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jailson Soares should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavinho Mello to make the kick off. Jailson Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Tomasini in the 51st minute of play. 51 minutes into the match, Alfredo Tomasini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jailson Soares. Breguete FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Tomasini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. With a little luck, ALIANZA 1901's Ruy Berger got control of the ball when Eugênio de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Flavinho Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Escobar in the 71st minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jailson Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Alfredo Tomasini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ALIANZA 1901's Rojelio Daza got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, Allan Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute Luis Escobar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radu Bulă who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Ruy Berger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Breguete FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
