But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Laguna couldn't finish the play. Nacho Gonzalez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Pes in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Club Sportivo Italiano were awarded a corner. Luisito Bikendi went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Evelio Pes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nacho Gonzalez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Hayles in the 11th minute of play. Nacho Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Pes in the 13th minute of play. El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save El Gallo de Moron from getting a goal against them. After 16 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Leon Egun. Luisinho Laguna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evelio Pes in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nacho Gonzalez saved El Gallo de Moron from getting behind. In the 22nd minute of the match Club Sportivo Italiano got a corner. El Gallo de Moron's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luisito Bikendi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Club Sportivo Italiano's Rogelio Claris was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nacho Gonzalez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 24 minutes into the match, Luisinho Laguna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynaldo Stephen. Club Sportivo Italiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisinho Laguna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Theo Hayles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nacho Gonzalez was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Evelio Pes took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Nacho Gonzalez to make any attempt to save it. In the 45th minute, Teofilo Garrote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, El Gallo de Moron's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Hayles came free, but Nacho Gonzalez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Evelio Pes made the kick off in the second half. Nacho Gonzalez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theo Hayles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nacho Gonzalez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Club Sportivo Italiano's Reynaldo Stephen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 64th minute of play. In the 84th minute El Gallo de Moron were awarded a corner. Gilberto Ihazintu went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Vanja Džaferović managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. El Gallo de Moron's Pierre Le Saint was substituted for Luisinho Laguna. In a very dangerous position, a player in El Gallo de Moron fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Club Sportivo Italiano a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luisito Bikendi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez. 3-2. In the 90th minute, Pierre Le Saint hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evelio Pes in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nacho Gonzalez saved El Gallo de Moron from getting behind. The supporters of El Gallo de Moron booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Egun didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
