Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celedonio Dominguez in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baldomiro Txindoki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baldomiro Txindoki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg in the 4th minute of play. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Mahonea in the 7th minute of play. Bosse Larsson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Dominguez came free, but Baldomiro Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celedonio Dominguez in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baldomiro Txindoki saved FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting behind. Baldomiro Txindoki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Totti, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After the first half FC UNIREA Alba Iulia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 54thth minute of the game Celedonio Dominguez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilson Arósio got free with Holger Vester in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Mahonea in the 58th minute of play. With a little luck, Hammarby IF's Holger Vester got control of the ball when Wilson Arósio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute Eric Luican shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Luican came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Holger Vester made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Victor Mahonea sent off a good shot on target. If Gösta Söderberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hammarby IF made a substitution. Karl-Johan Sundén replaced Francesco Totti. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 81st minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Hammarby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Controller Serapio to maneuver through the defense.
