George Buturugã made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Benedikt Bensch hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Rune Jarstein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Hertha 1969's Lüder Roppel got a free kick in the 45th minute.
