The coaching staff of GUSESI protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Benito Paulin had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of GUSESI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of WINNING ELEVEN:s goal. GUSESI:s Thibaut Courtois showed great skill when he stopped Leonel Cordaro:s penalty. After a defensive mix-up in GUSESI's zone, Neron Veterini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal and Neron Veterini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chants of WINNING ELEVEN echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as GUSESI had held the ball for most of the match.
