In the 6th minute Marco Mook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cihan Zafer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cihan Zafer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roderick van Boxel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seagulls were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after ◄▌Anatolia Athletic▐►'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dariusz Rekawiczka took the corner. The corner led Seagulls's Dariusz Rekawiczka to fire away a dangerous shot which Cihan Zafer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henk Veerman got free with Aurelio Rexino in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Henk Veerman could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Aurelio Rexino however easily saved by the left post. 15 minutes into the game, Corné van Basten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ◄▌Anatolia Athletic▐►'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seagulls the free kick. Aurelio Rexino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Aurelio Rexino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Veerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. A well done corner resulted in Corné van Basten drilling the ball in to score 3-0 behind Seagulls's goalkeeper. Seagulls's Aurelio Rexino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk Veerman in the 56th minute of play.
