Castanheiro SC's Tales Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Massa in the 24th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Massa came free, but Tales Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's Jânio Sanches nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
