The audience thought a goal was coming when Julien Staffelbach got free with Bartosz Rusin in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jimmy Olsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Linköpings AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aquilino Castelo Branco was slow to take the kick. During this time Keszi Athletic's players had a chance to rest. Keszi Athletic's Bartosz Rusin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvid Carlsson in the 18th minute of play. Keszi Athletic's Csaba Sarkady quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Stefan Blomqvist, made in the 32nd minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, Keszi Athletic's Hugó Révész sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimmy Olsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
