Celso Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éric Cantona in the 2nd minute of play. Celso Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éric Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Éric Cantonas short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Celso Barral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Tasso in the 17th minute of play. When Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MALAIA FDFDF's goalie prevented a goal. Romildo Binder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Rosa came free, but Sebastian Hellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Éric Cantona scored 2-0 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celso Barral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Éric Cantona notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of MALAIA FDFDF's Celso Barral. Celso Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Rosa in the 37th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romildo Binder in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Hellkvist saved Inter de Guayaquil FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Romildo Binder put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastian Hellkvist. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Xavier Zanetti got a free kick in the 45th minute. Sebastian Hellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romildo Binder, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute Éric Cantona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de Guayaquil FC made a substitution. Lorenzo Acutain replaced Éric Cantona. After 51 minutes MALAIA FDFDF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Saffet Ataergin who took care of the corner kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Maria Rosa to make the kick off. If Lorenzo Acutain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lorenzo Acutain blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celso Barral having to make a save. In the 58th minute, Jörn Svartengren made a precise shot to the right of Celso Barral. MALAIA FDFDF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Lorenzo Acutain got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Hellkvist made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when José Maria Rosa sent off a good shot on target. Celso Barral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jörn Svartengren went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. In the 75thth minute of the game Jörn Svartengren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MALAIA FDFDF's Celso Barral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jörn Svartengren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celso Barral having to make a save. 88 minutes into the game, José Maria Rosa threw the ball into play from the sideline. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Pompiliu Cristian quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 90thth minute of the game Jörn Svartengren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MALAIA FDFDF's Celso Barral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jörn Svartengren in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celso Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 92 minutes, Clóvis Souza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MALAIA FDFDF and the Inter de Guayaquil FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, MALAIA FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Souza to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in MALAIA FDFDF's zone, Jörn Svartengren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Barral came out of the goal and Jörn Svartengren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jörn Svartengren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Inter de Guayaquil FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
