Elderslie Magpies's Christian Kerville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mo Yi Sang in the 5th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Elderslie Magpies's Pere Villanueva got a free kick in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mo Yi Sang in the 12th minute of play forced Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Christian Kerville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mo Yi Sang came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mo Yi Sang couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Neal Weatherby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matias Carlomagno. San Lorenzo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neal Weatherby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Souness in the 30th minute of play. After 30 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Kara Melo. Matias Carlomagno made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Rick Souness sent off a good shot on target. After 34 played minutes, Elderslie Magpies's Pere Villanueva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Elderslie Magpies reached it. Mo Yi Sang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Christian Kerville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rick Souness in the 39th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Elderslie Magpies's zone, Mo Yi Sang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Kerville came out of the goal and Mo Yi Sang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Kerville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mo Yi Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute, Neal Weatherby made a precise shot to the right of Matias Carlomagno. San Lorenzo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mo Yi Sang to make the kick off. Mo Yi Sang might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Kerville. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mo Yi Sang ran back to his position shaking his head. Mo Yi Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Christian Kerville made a huge save. Matias Carlomagno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rick Souness in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Ovidio Etxekopar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Kerville showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mo Yi Sang in the 68th minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Sam Mccartan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elderslie Magpies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sam Mccartan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Kerville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mo Yi Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Mo Yi Sang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Lorenzo's Mo Yi Sang got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elderslie Magpies were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of San Lorenzo for a fine match.
