In the 11th minute Éric Cantona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Zielinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gottlieb Hammer hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Karsten Zielinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éric Cantona in the 13th minute of the match. Karsten Zielinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakub Ziombkowski in the 19th minute of play. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Barragan in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Xzavier Palomarez hit a great ball. Humberto Barragan got in the 47th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Karsten Zielinski and thus it was 2-0. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Lorenzo Acutain was substituted for Éric Cantona. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gottlieb Hammer made a kick off. Karsten Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Hector Andriesens hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Balus Treter's goal looked a bit too open when Jörn Svartengren came free, but Karsten Zielinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Jörn Svartengren made a precise shot to the right of Karsten Zielinski. Balus Treter's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After 66 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Bischoff. Saffet Ataergin came free in the 68th minute and tried to tip the ball over Karsten Zielinski, but to the joy of Balus Treter's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Karsten Zielinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Acutain in the 70th minute of play. Gottlieb Hammer hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Karsten Zielinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jörn Svartengren's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Balus Treter getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Hannes Esch hit a great ball. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Svartengren in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Jörn Svartengren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Zielinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de Guayaquil FC were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Balus Treter's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Saffet Ataergin took the corner. Fabio Bischoff tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Karsten Zielinski. An unnecessary self made goal, 4-0 in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Svartengren in the 83rd minute of play forced Balus Treter's goalkeeper Karsten Zielinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute, Lukas Prielhofer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
