In the 3rd minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Jordão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Punk Fiction was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Nayely didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Punk Fiction's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Amado Jordão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Sid Chadwick heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 13 minutes, Eleuterio Gagriel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Punk Fiction and the C. A. Independiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 13 played minutes Punk Fiction got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Gagriel. After 15 minutes Punk Fiction's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Snowden who took care of the corner kick. Amado Jordão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Jordão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Punk Fiction's Mario Egoitz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Amado Jordão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sid Chadwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Nayely blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Farid Mondragón having to make a save. In the 28th minute of the game Erberk Müftüoğlu made a throw-in which Alfredo Felder played forward. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xu Yun Quan in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amado Jordão saved Punk Fiction from getting behind. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Nayely in the 35th minute of the match. Xu Yun Quan scored 0-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amado Jordão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Punk Fiction players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. Independiente were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Nayely stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilberto Nayely recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilberto Nayely took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Farid Mondragón. Farid Mondragón dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Nayely, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes Punk Fiction got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Amor. 65 minutes into the match, Punk Fiction's goalkeeper Amado Jordão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xu Yun Quan. Eleuterio Gagriel made a great header on Punk Fiction's corner, it was just that C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sid Chadwick got free with Amado Jordão in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amado Jordão made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Xu Yun Quan sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Gilberto Nayely managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punk Fiction's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Nayely was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Farid Mondragón breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilberto Nayely recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Punk Fiction's Amado Jordão got control of the ball when Xu Yun Quan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Punk Fiction's Amado Jordão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Punk Fiction's Gilberto Nayely nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Farid Mondragón made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 93rd minute of the match Punk Fiction got a corner. C. A. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eleuterio Gagriel ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eleuterio Gagriel made a great header on Punk Fiction's corner, it was just that C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón managed to reach the ball for a save. The Punk Fiction support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
