Cipriano Morales made in the 3rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gorka Turienzo however managed to control. Ionel Zărnescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Domingues having to interfere. Danilo Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joselito Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Danilo Domingues came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by FCSB CUENCA's Joselito Quiroga. But to his dismay, Joselito Quiroga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of FCSB CUENCA booed when Meninos De Cotia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vilgot Cane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ionel Zărnescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danilo Domingues. Meninos De Cotia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Niceto Lando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meninos De Cotia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCSB CUENCA the free kick. Meninos De Cotia's Danilo Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joselito Quiroga in the 17th minute of play. Joselito Quiroga scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Danilo Domingues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Agapito Blanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Seco in the 20th minute of play. Danilo Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionel Zărnescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vilgot Cane hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Meninos De Cotia were awarded a corner. Mao Yu went to the cornerflag to take it. Agapito Blanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 32 minutes FCSB CUENCA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mao Yu who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Meninos De Cotia's corner Mao Yu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Agapito Blanco quite easily take care of the ball. If Jeremias Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FCSB CUENCA booed when Meninos De Cotia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xacintu Marin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FCSB CUENCA's Manuel Navarro got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Jeremias Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, FCSB CUENCA's goalkeeper Agapito Blanco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niceto Lando. Thanks to some nice moves Niceto Lando could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Agapito Blanco however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlinhos de Salles during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Meninos De Cotia getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Carlinhos de Salles hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ionel Zărnescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the FCSB CUENCA defense, Jeremias Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agapito Blanco. The FCSB CUENCA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agapito Blanco should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Cipriano Morales in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Meninos De Cotia's Paolo Maldini. It was a well-played corner which Niceto Lando managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Vitin Domingo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danilo Domingues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Joselito Quiroga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Niceto Lando might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agapito Blanco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Lando ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Meninos De Cotia's zone, Ionel Zărnescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Domingues came out of the goal and Ionel Zărnescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute Niceto Lando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agapito Blanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Felix Zărnescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCSB CUENCA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meninos De Cotia the free kick. After 92 played minutes FCSB CUENCA got a freekick which was hit by Felix Zărnescu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FCSB CUENCA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
