After a rather tough play, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Șerban Rusu got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Elvio Machado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bogdan Stelea. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Justo Romo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Stelea having to interfere. After 9 played minutes, Club Sportivo Italiano's Elvio Machado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Sportivo Italiano reached it. Bogdan Stelea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justo Romo in the 10th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Leontin Teodoreanu put in a rough tackle. Justo Romo took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bogdan Stelea. Bogdan Stelea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 25th minute F.C CLUJ MEDICINA were awarded a corner. Dragoş Cordescu went to the cornerflag to take it. Dragoş Cordescu, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bogdan Stelea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Senio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes F.C CLUJ MEDICINA got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Rusu. Justo Romo took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bogdan Stelea. Bogdan Stelea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Rafael Martino was a little too slow when Cătălin Barbăroșie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iacob Irimescu to strike the kick off in the second half. Iacob Irimescu struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rafael Martino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C CLUJ MEDICINA. Cătălin Barbăroșie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Martino having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Senio in the 72nd minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Iacob Irimescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's supporters rose to their feet, but Iacob Irimescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Martino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fermin Torres hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Octavio Senio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bogdan Stelea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Elvio Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Bogdan Stelea came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Italiano's Octavio Senio. But to his dismay, Octavio Senio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. When Calistrat Potopea fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's protests and gave Calistrat Potopea a yellow card for diving instead. Calistrat Potopea kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Club Sportivo Italiano's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
