An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Tjelle in the 19th minute of play forced Cachiyuyo EAS's goalkeeper Arnulfo Nataniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo EAS's goal looked a bit too open when Israel Petri came free, but Arnulfo Nataniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guillermo Esiquio got free with Finn Eidsvåg in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Guillermo Esiquio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachiyuyo EAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Esiquio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Finn Eidsvåg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Placido Haimar fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cachiyuyo EAS's protests and gave Placido Haimar a yellow card for diving instead. AEK FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
