The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernt Henriksson got free with Tomás Las Casas in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerónimo Brito made a kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Mattias Van de Wal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomás Las Casas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Segmon IF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gerónimo Brito 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. After 64 played minutes, Segmon IF's Mattias Van de Wal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tomás Las Casas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Segmon IF reached it. If Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 70 minutes, Ariel Almeyda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magallanes and the Segmon IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Romeo Morel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Ravelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Segmon IF's Thomas Ravelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerónimo Brito in the 80th minute of play. Tomás Las Casas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ture Elg in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ariel Almeyda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomas Ravelli. That made the score 0-3 in the 91 minute of play. In the 95th minute, Vladimiro Leroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Magallanes could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Segmon IF throughout the match.
