Edgar Ferm started the match with the kick off. Thomas Ravelli was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Gerónimo Brito capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gerónimo Brito really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Segmon IF's Thomas Ravelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerónimo Brito in the 7th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Magallanes's Thomas Ravelli threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gerónimo Brito, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerónimo Brito in the 8th minute of play forced Segmon IF's goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th match minute, Segmon IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Ferm to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Coutinho came free, but Tomás Las Casas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Angelo Aracena could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Thomas Ravelli however easily saved by the left post. When Gerónimo Brito came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerónimo Brito couldn't finish the play. Thomas Ravelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Mackenzie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute of the match, Angelo Aracena got a very nice opportunity to score, but Thomas Ravelli was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd minute Ture Elg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Las Casas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Las Casas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Ferm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Magallanes's Romeo Morel got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute Ture Elg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Las Casas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Aracena got free with Thomas Ravelli in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 2-1 became the score in the 47th minute when Erling Kling elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Angelo Aracena made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Segmon IF's zone, Herminio Quintero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Ravelli came out of the goal and Herminio Quintero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ture Elg got free with Tomás Las Casas in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Segmon IF's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso came free, but Thomas Ravelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Las Casas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ture Elg in the 74th minute. Ariel Almeyda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Thomas Ravelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87thth minute of the game Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Segmon IF's Thomas Ravelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mattias Van de Wal hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the match, Segmon IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ariel Almeyda came free, but Thomas Ravelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Magallanes's Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Segmon IF's goalie prevented a goal.
