The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of The Northmen Army:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of LA LUZ F.C.:s goal. The referee gave LA LUZ F.C. a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gonzalo Carneiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of The Northmen Army's Robin Bäckström. 0-1. Marciano Maore took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robin Bäckström. Robin Bäckström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luís Mejía took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hjalmar Håkansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to LA LUZ F.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luís Artime hit a great ball. Christian Olofsson struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Luís Mejía didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Northmen Army. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Olofsson to make the kick off. After some careless play in the LA LUZ F.C. defense, Kiko Zimbo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Mejía. The LA LUZ F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Mejía should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonzalo Carneiro got free with Robin Bäckström in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Mejía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Gustavsson in the 96th minute of play. The LA LUZ F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing LA LUZ F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
