An unexpectedly hard shot by Walt Schräder in the 6th minute of play forced Green Horses's goalkeeper Wlodzimierz Rawa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Green Horses's Vaggelis Menegakis got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Green Horses's Vaggelis Menegakis in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hamburg Fighters's goalie prevented a goal. After 24 minutes, Vaggelis Menegakis made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hamburg Fighters's Matthew Jastrzembowski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Hamburg Fighters booed when Green Horses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Menegakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Fritz Mittrenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Berti Stand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wlodzimierz Rawa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burkhard Niebler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wlodzimierz Rawa having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Burkhard Niebler to make the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Menios Karagiorgis put in a rough tackle. Wlodzimierz Rawa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berti Stand in the 53rd minute of play. Hamburg Fighters's Matthew Jastrzembowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Hamburg Fighters from getting a goal against them. Vaggelis Menegakis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Matthew Jastrzembowski skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Green Horses getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Lakis Zisis hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vaios Petridis during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 71st minute Berti Stand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wlodzimierz Rawa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthew Jastrzembowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michalis Kapetanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Vaggelis Menegakis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Green Horses getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Vaggelis Menegakis hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Friedel Wahlberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wlodzimierz Rawa. Green Horses's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Friedel Wahlberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Michalis Kapetanos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matthew Jastrzembowski came out and tried to block the shot, but Michalis Kapetanos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 92nd minute. Vaggelis Menegakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Matthew Jastrzembowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Green Horses supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Green Horses would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
