A sloppy throw-in by Traian Lupescu in the 4th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by LA DEL MONO's Cecilio Ireno. Cazimir Pânzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Ghee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betinho Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Matei Onaca hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, LA DEL MONO's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Onaca came free, but Jacinto Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovidiu Borza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Jacinto Fe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ovidiu Borza scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacinto Fe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ovidiu Borza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidiu Borza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Fe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacinto Fe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matei Onaca, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When Traian Lupescu fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stiinta-Univ.'s protests and gave Traian Lupescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of LA DEL MONO booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Lupescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute Betinho Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Ghee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godofredo Belasko in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Ghee saved Stiinta-Univ. from getting behind. In the 40th minute, Ovidiu Borza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jacinto Fe. The goal made the score 2-0. After having played for 45 minutes, Godofredo Belasko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA DEL MONO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godofredo Belasko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidiu Borza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Denis Ghee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Belasko. In the 52nd minute Irinel Itoafă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, LA DEL MONO's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Itoafă came free, but Jacinto Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Godofredo Belasko made a precise shot to the right of Denis Ghee. Stiinta-Univ.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, LA DEL MONO's Godofredo Belasko got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, LA DEL MONO's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Borza came free, but Jacinto Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ovidiu Borza in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacinto Fe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in LA DEL MONO's zone, Cazimir Pânzaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Fe came out of the goal and Cazimir Pânzaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the game, Betinho Falcão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Denis Ghee. Betinho Falcão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind LA DEL MONO's goalkeeper Jacinto Fe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s Matei Onaca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacinto Fe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Manuel Aluncai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Ghee made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Godofredo Belasko sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 93 minutes, Godofredo Belasko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA DEL MONO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godofredo Belasko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Betinho Falcão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Denis Ghee. Betinho Falcão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. The LA DEL MONO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing LA DEL MONO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
