Marc Hauser's late challenge caught a SAO JOANENSE FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The SAO JOANENSE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José do Vale should have stopped the shot. José do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owain Fossati in the 87th minute of play. Sven von Rohr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eriberto Vaz in the 89th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frederick Verreau during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 92 played minutes Denti della Vecchia got a freekick which was hit by Frederick Verreau. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Denti della Vecchia fans cheered their team off the field, for while SAO JOANENSE FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
