With an extended leg and a bit of luck Monte Lobato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Monte Lobato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute of the match Jovens Democratas MZC got a corner. Tasso FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mário de Queirós ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jovens Democratas MZC's Mário de Queirós was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Monte Lobato in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Monte Lobato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didi Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Monte Lobato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Scarcella, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Benedicto Quin might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murillo Pinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benedicto Quin ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Quin in the 22nd minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Murillo Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Erasmo de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monte Lobato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monte Lobato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo de Godoi in the 28th minute of play. Monte Lobato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Scarcella in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner. Mário de Queirós went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Jovens Democratas MZC's Mário de Queirós to fire away a dangerous shot which Monte Lobato despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Scarcella in the 34th minute of play forced Tasso FC's goalkeeper Monte Lobato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jovens Democratas MZC's Abel Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Tasso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Scarcella came free, but Monte Lobato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Scarcella to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Tasso FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Sandalio. If Isaio Cobarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tasso FC's Machado Assis took a good shot, in the 59th minute, which hit the crossbar above Murillo Pinho's head, and flew over the goal. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Tasso FC. Tasso FC's Monte Lobato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Dracena in the 63rd minute of play. Monte Lobato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abel Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. Giuseppe Negri replaced Erasmo de Godoi. Percival Mangueira hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Jovens Democratas MZC's Maicon de Amorim was substituted for Percival Mangueira. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
