Codrin Olaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Angelo Quico made a huge save. Granicerul's Costel Strungă suffered a concussion after 9 minutes and had to leave the field. Leo Gonsalvo's late challenge caught a Granicerul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Gonsalvo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Celtic FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Gonsalvo to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Quico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Ciociu, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. When Granicerul's Codrin Olaru in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Celtic FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 17th minute, Marcelo Vellito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 20 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Zdrenghea. Armando Fidele took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Bebeșel. Octavian Bebeșel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Angelo Quico made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Nicu Olăroiu sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Jimeno Pitin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octavian Bebeșel was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 30th minute of the match, Codrin Olaru got a very nice opportunity to score, but Angelo Quico was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd match minute, Granicerul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Uduleanu to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Quico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Colin in the 37th minute of play. Angelo Quico made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicu Olăroiu in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic FC's zone, Codrin Olaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Quico came out of the goal and Codrin Olaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Olimpiu Zdrenghea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Octavian Bebeșel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Ortzi in the 55th minute of play. Octavian Bebeșel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anier Oalo in the 64th minute. Celtic FC's Angelo Quico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Ianculescu in the 68th minute of play. After 92 minutes of play, Granicerul's Eusebiu Ianculescu made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Quico was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 96 minutes of play Celtic FC's Leo Gonsalvo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Leo Gonsalvo hit a great ball. In the 98th match minute, Celtic FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Vellito to maneuver through the defense. In the 99th minute of the match Laurențiu Ciociu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Quico showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Celtic FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
