The audience was convinced that Beila Cacho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otávio da Mata was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FÊNIX F.C.'s zone, Vasile Soare stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otávio da Mata came out of the goal and Vasile Soare tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fermin Ahedo came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Mesere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Ahedo couldn't finish the play. Otávio da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beila Cacho in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind FÊNIX F.C.'s goalkeeper Otávio da Mata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vasile Soare made a kick off. FÊNIX F.C.'s Otávio da Mata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save FÊNIX F.C. from getting a goal against them. FÊNIX F.C.'s Otávio da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Soare in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Beila Cacho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Otávio da Mata. The goal made the score 0-1. 63 minutes into the match, Mesere's Beila Cacho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Otávio da Mata narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led Mesere's Eate Azcaraso to fire away a dangerous shot which Otávio da Mata despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Júlio Antunes in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Mesere's Fermin Ahedo. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mesere had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
