Urbes Cenzano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Novaes in the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Urbes Cenzano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edson Salgado. Arturo Azpiazu lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Club Puerto Quito's Arturo Azpiazu got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Dedê Trancoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ibirama Futebol Clube's José Augusto Novaes in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Ibirama Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 45th minute, Pepito Plasencia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Urki Espino to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Vitin Martin put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ruud Windmuller. In the 64th minute, Urki Espino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when Ibirama Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Luisão Sabóia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Urbes Cenzano was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto Novaes in the 88th minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Urbes Cenzano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
