Devoto club social's Tomás Bertran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Devoto club social from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iratze Lillo during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Devoto club social's Tomás Bertran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vergaray Echeto in the 54th minute of play. Quinito Cifuentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaby Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomás Bertran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vergaray Echeto in the 63rd minute of play. Marcial Lohitzun was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 64 played minutes Devoto club social got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Lohitzun. Devoto club social's Tomás Bertran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Tarin in the 73rd minute of play. After 74 played minutes Cuatrodeocho got a freekick which was hit by Iratze Lillo. Madeo Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vergaray Echeto in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Bertran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vergaray Echeto in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Bertran saved Devoto club social from getting behind. In the 96th minute Marcial Tarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Bertran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaby Batistuta charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaby Batistuta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Devoto club social's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
