The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Cruz got free with Yanic Kulenovic in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After a rather tough play, MZ Fénix's Rubim Jesus got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute of the game Mick Badurina made a throw-in which Reinhard Eichel played forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adam Hinnen got free with Zarco Bandeira in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zarco Bandeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Gerber in the 64th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Gusmão Moreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanic Kulenovic was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Tran Brünisholz got a throw-in 76 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Germano Despland. In the 80th match minute, MZ Fénix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Domingues to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes in the game Tran Brünisholz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Germano Despland. Vicente Domingues's late challenge caught a FC Wil 1900's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. Noel Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Lázaro Caldas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Reinhard Eichel managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Wil 1900's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinhard Eichel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zarco Bandeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Wil 1900 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
