Mathieu Tippelt kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hertha 1969's zone, Edwin Näfver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erich Pietta came out of the goal and Edwin Näfver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's Mark Stripf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Ros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erich Pietta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Näfver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tom Hasselqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tom Hasselqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Glentown FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Tom Hasselqvist hit a great ball. Stefan Ros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Jäckel in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Glentown FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Semjon Schapiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Hertha 1969's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Hertha 1969's Dante Jakob to fire away a dangerous shot which Stefan Ros despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Stefan Ros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Stripf in the 30th minute of play. Edwin Näfver's late challenge caught a Hertha 1969's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edwin Näfver helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Glentown FC got a freekick which was hit by Edwin Näfver. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam Jäckel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stefan Ros. That made the score 1-0 in the 32 minute of play. In the 35th minute, Jörn Liljeström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Edwin Näfver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Hertha 1969's Mathieu Tippelt got a free kick in the 51st minute. Glentown FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hertha 1969 the free kick. After 96 played minutes Glentown FC got a freekick which was hit by Andréas Lindgren. If Mathieu Tippelt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Glentown FC's goalkeeper Stefan Ros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hertha 1969's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
