After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Dagoberto Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Dagoberto Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 14 minutes, Edmílson Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montevideo and the BMB IMOVEIS SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Mineiro during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rômulo Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Sérgio de Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dagoberto Loyola's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Wincent Jaworski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Paranaense. In the 20th minute, Dagoberto Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias dos Santos in the 39th minute of play forced BMB IMOVEIS SC's goalkeeper Sérgio de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rômulo Mineiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Montevideo booed when BMB IMOVEIS SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. BMB IMOVEIS SC's Sérgio de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Loyola in the 78th minute of play. Wincent Jaworski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Paranaense in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montevideo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hélder Melo was slow to take the kick. During this time BMB IMOVEIS SC's players had a chance to rest. 86 minutes into the match, BMB IMOVEIS SC's goalkeeper Sérgio de Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto Loyola. Emanuel Paranaense hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Rômulo Mineiro hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Montevideo's Dagoberto Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Renan Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
