But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aca Larroque couldn't finish the play. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aca Larroque, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The supporters of ♫ Highway To Hell ❼❾ ♫ booed when Seagulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. After some careless play in the Seagulls defense, Aca Larroque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. The Seagulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Joost Smeekes should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ralf Talsma was the one to do the kick off.
