The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. GuateFortín's Carlos Navarro Montoya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jago Ballesteros in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Jan-Ove Lindmark managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sundens BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Ove Lindmark was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Navarro Montoya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilhelm Säv made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Milton Umaña sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pelle Nykvist during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of GuateFortín booed when Sundens BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pelle Nykvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Wickander in the 14th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Carlos Navarro Montoya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as GuateFortín's Ezequiel Peruanton slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilhelm Säv. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. In the 24th match minute, Sundens BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jago Ballesteros to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Sundens BK's goal looked a bit too open when Milton Umaña came free, but Wilhelm Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Sundens BK's Wilhelm Säv got control of the ball when Milton Umaña tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Victor Valenzuela could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Wilhelm Säv however easily saved by the left post. In the 45th minute Daniel Wickander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Navarro Montoya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Sundens BK's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Alvarado came free, but Wilhelm Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Alvarado was the one to do the kick off. Primitivo Gallardo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Alvarado. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GuateFortín's goalkeeper Carlos Navarro Montoya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Julio Asad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. GuateFortín made a substitution. Félix Moreno replaced Victor Valenzuela. Julio Asad hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Wilhelm Säv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félix Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on GuateFortín's corner Abraham Santamaria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilhelm Säv quite easily take care of the ball. After 93 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Madureira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sajeev Rajah in the 95th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Carlos Navarro Montoya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes in the game, Sajeev Rajah dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The GuateFortín players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
