After 5 played minutes C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Cai. Silvio Benino made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Sascha Andre Rennert sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Silvio Benino got control of the ball when Ivo Claus tried to sneak it across the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Rodolfo Enaut sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Uwe Ziege narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Enaut came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Tomas Gabirel notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege. Uwe Ziege was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvio Benino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elmar Assing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maurizio Brink nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvio Benino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Silvio Benino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurizio Brink in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Bertran in the 36th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Uwe Ziege to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Gabirel was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's players had a chance to rest. C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Tomas Gabirel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Uwe Ziege in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 38th minute of the match C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Gabirel ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vasco Jackisch tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Uwe Ziege. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Gunther Schößler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ the free kick. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ. Tomas Gabirel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Uwe Ziege. 1-3. The C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Rodolfo Enaut looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodolfo Enaut was the one to do the kick off. Silvio Benino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Claus, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Tomas Gabirel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 61 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Enaut came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurizio Brink kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute of the match Tomas Gabirel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Uwe Ziege showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Mokros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 played minutes C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Cai. Björn Mokros might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvio Benino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Björn Mokros ran back to his position shaking his head. After 75 played minutes, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Hjalmar Blumentritt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvio Benino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rot-Weiss-Essen reached it. Uwe Ziege didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Enaut went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Uwe Ziege took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Enaut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege got control of the ball when Timoteo Bertran tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivo Claus hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute of the match Esteban Cai shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Uwe Ziege showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Uwe Ziege had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timoteo Bertran. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
