The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Szczepan Mosiniak came free, but Vitor José reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vitor José was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Júnior Veloso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Júnior Veloso really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Danone CC's Emanuel Mazza got a free kick in the 8th minute. Danone CC's Otávio Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos Gaspar in the 10th minute of play. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Danone CC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juan Sorin took the corner. Vitor José made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enéas Ribeiro in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Szczepan Mosiniak came free, but Vitor José reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júnior Veloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Vitor José made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, Danone CC's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz came free, but Otávio Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Jairo Macedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Danone CC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Vitor José made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enéas Ribeiro in the 28th minute. If Júnior Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Cyprian Grajewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitor José saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitor José made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Jairo Macedo sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the match, Enéas Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vitor José. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enéas Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Vitor José showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Recife in the 44th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Danone CC's Emanuel Mazza got a free kick in the 47th minute. Otávio Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ladislao Mazurkiewicz made a kick off. Remo Valle hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Danone CC's Tião Esteves tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Cyprian Grajewski came free, but Vitor José reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Carlos Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Massa having to interfere. Danone CC made a substitution. Cauan Marinho replaced Cyprian Grajewski. In the 78thth minute of the game Cauan Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Vitor José was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After taking down the ball on Danone CC's corner Alfredinho Pimenta fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vitor José quite easily take care of the ball. In the 81st minute, Enéas Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 88 minutes of play, Danone CC's Júnior Veloso made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vitor José was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enéas Ribeiro during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Enéas Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Danone CC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otávio Massa came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. But to his dismay, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Danone CC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
