The supporters of Zuberbühler FC booed when FC Draconia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Štefko Stadnyuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uwe Nwachukwu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Neto in the 26th minute of play. Zuberbühler FC's Zoran Zahrádka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Etienne Langhmans in the 29th minute of play. FC Draconia's Etienne Langhmans got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Braulio Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfredo Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. When Wilfredo Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Zuberbühler FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilfredo Vargas couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Zuberbühler FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Gonzales. 47 minutes into the match, FC Draconia's goalkeeper Uwe Nwachukwu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Neto. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Etienne Langhmans made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Zuberbühler FC got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Crispo. Uwe Nwachukwu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Vargas notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Draconia's Uwe Nwachukwu. Uwe Nwachukwu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Okan Buruk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Zoran Zahrádka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narciso Jesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uwe Nwachukwu having to interfere. Klaus Dhondt's late challenge caught a Zuberbühler FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
