Luisão Silveira was slow to take the kick. During this time Jenipapo SC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Jenipapo SC's Luisão Silveira to fire away a dangerous shot which Willian Trevisan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Kaká Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabiano Abraão scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kaká Lopes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kaká Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Negri in the 21st minute of play. Kaká Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano Abraão in the 29th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Fabiano Abraão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merusca F&P - CIMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Jenipapo SC defense, Fabiano Abraão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Lopes. The Jenipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Lopes should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Merusca F&P - CIMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
