In the 11th match minute, Atletico Calamar Saavedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Galo to maneuver through the defense. Isaac Mingo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Felipe Guzman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, RB Chubut's Isaac Mingo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipe Guzman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Isaac Mingo's late challenge caught a Atletico Calamar Saavedra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. RB Chubut's Maximino Aimar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abel Galo, made in the 46th minute of the game. Felipe Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabríel Batistuta to make the kick off. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valentin Baristo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 92 played minutes RB Chubut got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Mikolas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliberto Olentzaro in the 93rd minute of play forced RB Chubut's goalkeeper Robert Vassenius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atletico Calamar Saavedra had won after a very even match.
