The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of FC Old Dogs United booed when Henley on Thames United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3 minutes into the match, Violet Skachkov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ross Armitage, 1-0. Violet Skachkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 9 minutes of play, Henley on Thames United's Jeremy Gray made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Borimir Karadzhov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Borimir Karadzhov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Gray in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Henley on Thames United's Rowan Ryder got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Antonio Di Fabrizio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Henley on Thames United's Ross Armitage was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yane Donkovski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ross Armitage having to make a save. Borimir Karadzhov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Gray, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the FC Old Dogs United defense, Rowan Ryder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Borimir Karadzhov. The FC Old Dogs United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Borimir Karadzhov should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the match, FC Old Dogs United's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremy Gray came free, but Borimir Karadzhov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henley on Thames United's Ross Armitage proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Henley on Thames United from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Rowan Ryder sped through FC Old Dogs United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Borimir Karadzhov. Ross Armitage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Violet Skachkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

In the 53rd minute Violet Skachkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ross Armitage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes FC Old Dogs United got a freekick which was hit by Yane Donkovski. In the 57th match minute, FC Old Dogs United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yane Donkovski to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th match minute, FC Old Dogs United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Di Fabrizio to maneuver through the defense. Glenn Westwood received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Borimir Karadzhov came out and tried to block the shot, but Glenn Westwood slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 68th minute. If Glenn Westwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Plumber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Violet Skachkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ross Armitage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Di Fabrizio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Westwood in the 89th minute of play forced FC Old Dogs United's goalkeeper Borimir Karadzhov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Henley on Thames United's João Vítor Donato ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Borimir Karadzhov. Borimir Karadzhov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. Momchil Denkin hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
