The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Endre Ábrahám cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Serafim Mesquita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when The Potters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jasper Maaløv didn't get a good kick on the ball. Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, The Potters's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Mandrak came free, but Bernhard Mondal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernhard Mondal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Duarte in the 12th minute of the match. With a little luck, The Potters's Bernhard Mondal got control of the ball when Valdomiro Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Serafim Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willy Solstrøm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Gentil in the 23rd minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Serafim Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, The Potters's Diego Gentil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafim Mesquita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Serafim Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Endre Ábrahám, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The supporters of The Potters booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serafim Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tavs Kibshede in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, The Potters's Gerhardt Ryer got a free kick in the 35th minute. Bernhard Mondal was a little too slow when Ramiro Rosado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-2. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Valdomiro Duarte hit a great ball. After the first half The Potters were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Gentil stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jasper Maaløv during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes The Potters got a freekick which was hit by Jasper Maaløv. Serafim Mesquita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willy Solstrøm in the 57th minute. The Várzea F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Várzea F.C.'s Valdomiro Duarte looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Potters's Alfonso Osorio was substituted for Endre Ábrahám. Várzea F.C.'s Serafim Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tavs Kibshede in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Alfonso Osorio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Serafim Mesquita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gerhardt Ryer fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Potters's protests and gave Gerhardt Ryer a yellow card for diving instead. 77 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Diego Gentil came free, but Serafim Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafim Mesquita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Osorio in the 80th minute. Serafim Mesquita came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by The Potters's Tavs Kibshede. But to his dismay, Tavs Kibshede quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Várzea F.C.'s Serafim Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willy Solstrøm in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute, The Potters's Wictor Hakim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. After a rather tough play, The Potters's Gerhardt Ryer got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Erdiano Peñuñuri hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Bernhard Mondal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ramiro Rosado went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-5 was the resulting score. The Várzea F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. The Potters were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
