Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. 5 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Oleg Timofeev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Güray Arıkhan. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Edmílson Silveira got a free kick in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Bater Cuca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oleg Timofeev. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bater Cuca in the 12th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Oleg Timofeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
