Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Rangers FC from getting a goal against them. In the 5th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold Fraser to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute Sixto Bernaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Benja Dominguez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Areco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Igor Cristofor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Areco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Cristofor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fergus Fairbairn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sixto Bernaldo hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Benja Dominguez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Fairbairn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Ryan McIver charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ryan McIver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Ryan McIver. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benja Dominguez in the 38th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Fairbairn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benja Dominguez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 40 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Bernaldo in the 43rd minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Bernaldo in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sixto Bernaldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Sixto Bernaldo notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn. Fergus Fairbairn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Benja Dominguez scored 5-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergus Fairbairn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Areco FC booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Johnston didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sixto Bernaldo in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fergus Fairbairn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benja Dominguez hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benja Dominguez in the 71st minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Areco FC's Eduard Bernátek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reece Frissell in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, Herminio Cresencio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Areco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rangers FC the free kick. Herminio Cresencio kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benja Dominguez in the 80th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ron McLeish kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Igor Cristofor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fergus Fairbairn having to make a save. Rangers FC were furious when Ryan McIver was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Rangers FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Areco FC:s goal. The referee gave Areco FC a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mauricio Argider, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn. 6-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Areco FC had played much better football throughout.
