The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Danone CC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Domingues came free, but Otávio Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Veloso came free, but Diamantino Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júnior Veloso in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Vides prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Júnior Veloso sped through Breguete FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Diamantino Vides. 13 minutes into the game, one of Breguete FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Breguete FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Danone CC's zone, Benjamim Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otávio Massa came out of the goal and Benjamim Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Diamantino Vides managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Danone CC's Júlio Pena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Breguete FC's zone, Júnior Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Vides came out of the goal and Júnior Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Breguete FC's Diamantino Vides proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Breguete FC from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir de Almeida came free, but Diamantino Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Danone CC booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Pena who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Vides when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigo Domingues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Szczepan Mosiniak came free, but Diamantino Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 51 played minutes Breguete FC got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Godoi. 54 minutes into the game, Ademir Aparecido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Danone CC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Breguete FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Danone CC's Ademir Aparecido got a free kick in the 54th minute. Otávio Massa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Roberto Toledo. Manfredo de Queirós's late challenge caught a Danone CC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manfredo de Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Rodrigo Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamantino Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Veloso in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Pena in the 70th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diamantino Vides made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Breguete FC's Diamantino Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Szczepan Mosiniak in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Júlio Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breguete FC were furious when Roberto Toledo was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Breguete FC!
