Bernabe Oto charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernabe Oto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 12 played minutes PINGO PINGO got a freekick which was hit by Bernabe Oto. Otávio Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Lertxun, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 21st minute Froilan Lertxun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leandro Gonzalez Pirez charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júnior Veloso was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Danone CC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Alberto Passos to maneuver through the defense. 53 minutes into the match, PINGO PINGO's Abelardo Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Otávio Massa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54th minute of the match PINGO PINGO got a corner. Danone CC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Danone CC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PINGO PINGO the free kick. In the 85th match minute, Danone CC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zdzislaw Waselewicz to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Fausto Senna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raul Isias was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Danone CC fans cheered their team off the field, for while PINGO PINGO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
