In the 9th minute, Benjamim Rezende left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Breguete FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 12 played minutes Breguete FC got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Rezende. Laerte Bittencourt hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The supporters of Danone CC booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Domingues in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otávio Massa saved Danone CC from getting behind. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Breguete FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Szczepan Mosiniak was slow to take the kick. During this time Danone CC's players had a chance to rest. Júlio Pena made a great header on Danone CC's corner, it was just that Breguete FC's Jefferson Souza managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 32nd minute, Júnior Veloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jefferson Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jefferson Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Pena in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Pena in the 35th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jefferson Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Benjamim Rezende hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Jefferson Souza came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Danone CC's Fausto Senna. But to his dismay, Fausto Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Domingues was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Jefferson Souza managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Danone CC's Júlio Pena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fausto Senna received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jefferson Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Fausto Senna slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 52nd minute. After 61 played minutes Danone CC got a freekick which was hit by Szczepan Mosiniak. Otávio Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Jefferson Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Senna in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Fausto Senna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Jefferson Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 72nd minute, Júnior Veloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Senna in the 75th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jefferson Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Júlio Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jefferson Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Cipriano Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Breguete FC and the Danone CC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Cipriano Godoi got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goalkeeper Jefferson Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Pena. Jefferson Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Senna in the 83rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Danone CC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Szczepan Mosiniak to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Danone CC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
